Check-in times at Asante Sana Inn (ASI) are between 3PM and 7PM. You may drop off bags and luggage earlier than the 3PM check-in time if needed, but arrangements should be made in advance. Please call 202-570-1281 to arrange for early luggage drop off.
Guests wishing to check-in early should make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance. Due to our small size and housekeeping considerations, there is no guarantee of being able to check-in earlier than 3PM.
Checkout time is 11AM. Luggage storage is available until 7PM on the date of checkout.
Cancellations can be made up to 72 hours in advance of check-in without penalty. There is a non-refundable $50.00 deposit on all reservations. There may be additional processing fees for cancellations of bookings held over 21 days. Special Non-Refundable rate reservations are non-refundable. Requests for refunds for special circumstances or exceptions, or for other than cancellations are made in writing by submitting a “Request for Refund” form, obtained from Asante Sana Inn by email. You may request refund directly via email at ASInn@asantesana.us.
Concierge/Front Desk hours
On premises Concierge hours are 3-7PM daily.
Please be mindful of other guests in the hotel and keep noise levels to a minimum. This hotel has a zero tolerance noise policy. If there is a noise complaint from other guests or neighbors, you will be issued a warning. If there is a second noise complaint, you will be asked to leave the hotel premises without a refund.
No underage drinking or illegal substances are permitted in the hotel. Either of these violations will result in immediate expulsion from the hotel premises and the involvement of law enforcement.
Guests who book and sign for the room reservation will be charged for any damage or theft sustained in the room occupied.
Checkout time is 11:00AM. Late checkouts must be requested in advance. Late departure after 1:00PM without authorization may be subject to an additional $50.00 charge. Luggage storage is available until 7PM, checkout date.
Food and Beverage
Food and beverage service is still in planning stages as of May 2016, to include pre-packaged food, fine meals by advance arrangement, champagne, beer, wine, soft drinks and fruit juices. Alcoholic beverages may be ordered at time of reservation or reservation modification. Please see our alcoholic beverage availability list by clicking (TBA). If you do not see the beverage you seek, please write it in and we will reply to you within 24 hours regarding availability and pricing. Please call 202-570-1281 with any questions.
Please click (TBA) for a selected list of local restaurants and other eating establishments. There is a Giant Supermarket only a short walk from Asante Sana.
ASI provides free WIFI and desktop computer Internet service 24 hours per day.
ASI provides a full utensil-equipped gourmet Kitchen on the main floor, as well as a satellite kitchen on the Garden Level, closest to rooms 101 and 102. Basic food items (coffee, cereals, condiments etc) and food preparation supplies are available in the main floor kitchen. The main floor kitchen is available for use by all guests, including guests on the Garden Level. Other items available are a variety of spices, basic baking requirements including oils, flour, sugar etc., as well as spaghetti, ramen and soba noodles among others. There is a Giant supermarket located 2 blocks away by walking down Kenyon St. to 14th St. and turning right.
There are microwave and refrigerator-freezer equipped kitchenettes in the King Suite and the Lighthouse Suite, consisting of two double beds. All guests in any room are free to prepare their own meals in the main kitchen.
Coin-operated washer and dryer are available on the Garden Level, down the stairs through the door in the kitchen.
ASI is not responsible for loss, damage or theft of cash, jewelry or other valuables left unattended in guest rooms. ASI will not be held responsible for the acts or omissions of third persons, hotel employees or representatives, unless they arise out of the strict performance of hotel employees or representative duties. In any case, ASI will not be held responsible under any circumstances for damages in excess of the equivalent of twice the daily room rate of the concerned party.
Should ASI suffer any loss or damage to property as a result of any act or omission by a guest or visitor of a guest, the guest will remain liable for full reimbursement of such loss or damage incurred and will be billed accordingly.
Lost and Found
Articles left behind by guests are kept for retrieval for up to 90 (ninety) days. Guests should contact the Concierge regarding lost items as soon as practical. After 90 days, unclaimed items will be disposed of.
Luggage may be stored at ASI prior to checking in or after checking out, on arrival and departure dates respectively until 7PM the date of departure.

Washington DC may now permit marijuana smoking or e-cigarette use in public places but because of our small size, we’re not equipped to allow smoking of any type.

No Smoking Policy
Asante Sana Inn is a health conscious non-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed indoors or at outdoor patio tables or chairs. Outside smoking is limited to the front yard curbside parkway only or the rear alley.
On premises parking is $10.00 per day when parking permission is obtained in advance of check-in. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Guests found parking on the premises without prior authorization may incur a fee of $14.00 per day.
Guests will incur a penalty of $50.00 per day for unauthorized parking causing displacement of another authorized guest who has paid. Guests who commit unauthorized parking causing the displacement of a paid parking guest, then causing that guest to be ticketed will also be responsible for the cost of the displaced guests’ ticket.
Guests should be cautious parking anywhere in the District of Columbia. DC ticketing policies can be aggressive, and the street signs regarding parking restrictions are often confusing.
Payment of 50% deposit of fees must be made at the time of reservation, which includes a $50.00 Non-Refundable Deposit. Declined credit card reservations are cancelled if updated credit card information is not received when requested within 48 hours. A third credit card decline will be permanently canceled. Pets may accompany guests to ASI through advance arrangement only. ASI welcomes pets whose affairs and environment are kept cleaned up. The pet rate is $50 per pet. Dogs weighing up to 18 kilograms or 40 pounds are acceptable. Pets over 40 pounds the rate is $100.00 For other animals, please contact ASI in advance for further information.
Pets are usually limited to well-mannered cats and dogs only, weighing less than 40lbs. If you feel your larger dog is well trained and has good manners and her affairs are kept cleaned up, you must call in advance and discuss your large dog in order to obtain permission to bring a large dog. Pets should be housebroken and clean.
Guests bringing pets into Asante Sana without advance permission will be charged $150 per day, per pet.
